Dell Xps M1530 Blue Screen Problem

A couple of days ago I changed paste on CPU and GPU as the fan was going crazy and I couldn't hear my thoughts. For sure next laptop wont be from Dell….. It works! I heated the GPU (removed the fan etc first to not heet the processor and that other chip) for only two minutes from a close distance using a hairdryer. http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19329407

Isn't it funny that the ... Wow!!! Five minutes with a hair dryer. This does indicate a MB issue.
But I tried that today, blowing hot air for as long as the 6:32 min "Anthem" song lasts (Deep Purple). Way out of warranty, so I thought for sure was gonna be an expensive motherboard replacement. I will definitely give this a shot. Dell Xps 15 9550 Black Screen On Startup I blowed over it in short spans of 4-5 minutes, letting the components cool off a bit in between.
Well, it didn't work for me. Today I tried the hair dryer trick-and it worked! I don't think that includes the battery, which is probably going to need replacement in the not too far off future.

Firtsly I would like to tell you that try and swap the memory sticks and try and power on the system on one memory stick. Then, I found your article (and a video as well).

The first clue was that the laptop was not actually frozen; just that it was not displaying anything on the screen. check my blog But as an alternate solution y just start any linux from USB connected to an external monitor. 5 min of use to reach operational temperature and restart work from disk as M1210 blank/black screen. I guess I can keep doing it over and over, but I'm going to find a more permanent solution or buy a new laptop. Malfunctioning Ic
Alll seems well now. Last night, it was working fine. Works for me. this content I tried taking EVERYTHING that can come off the motherboard that can come off, turned the oven onto 350 degrees.

Dell Xps M1530 Video Card What happens the solder dots crack and if that is the case the high temperature helps those cracked solder dots to go back to their original form.

Thanks everyone for making this repair possible. Initially, I rejected the idea, I felt excessive heat would rather damage the chip or might melt the contacts. I typed this message on it. Check out whats happening to mine….
This will switch the partition to the primary, and Windows will load normally. Thank you!! The way to troubleshoot is to remove, one at a time and try to boot, starting with, the RAM, then D ... Who would ever believe it?

You saved my day. It's just off warranty and I don't want to blow alot on it if it's all in vain.
