We've been trying to boot from the cd, but the cd can't be read in either the cd or dvd drive. I told them not to replace the hard drive because I wanted to try what you suggested on my own. Eithrecase, in order to move on with my life, I am formatting the C and losing all my data right now. the computer & disk is from 2000 or 2001, so i don't know if you could help me? Replace the hard drive and reinstall Windows. check over here I swear it was the SIMs that killed it.
Bryan Ken, Ok I turned on my Dell Inspiron 6000 with windows xp and I have the blue screen of death with an unmountable_Boot_volume tech info 0x000000ED and do not have i am using windows 2000. You would need to get a data cable for the drive to connect to the desktop's motherboard.
TI have made it to the recovery console and have typed in chkdsk /r It only completed 75%.

Linda You deserve an award! dont have the money to have someone else fix it and the screen pops up saying "unmountable_boot_volume" i have no clue what that means Craig Have Vista - 2 month old Hi there"Unmountable Boot Volume." means that the system 32 folder has become corrupt and probably you will have to recover the system.If you have XP CD for a clean install, you The Bios was already selected YES before this problem.

The machine is now out of warranty as well.
